Delivered crack, dented and scratched all over it. Amazon useless also for replacement. Recommend this not be purchased.

This workbench looks great but the reality is that it is not of the greatest quality. Just put it together today and the worst part is the top. The write up makes it sound like it is wood but alas no. Just cheap particle board with some sort of butcher block laminate over it maybe. Mine came with a small chunk out of the top. Particle board did not hold up well in shipping as I think others have reported. The rest of it is sturdy but kind of flimsy at the same time.

Assembly was annoying. English is good however. Also it is a fairly tall workbench and is not adjustable really. Of course only a few hundred bucks so what might you expect these days. And it works in the end. There are two components that require a second of thought, like the backside brace, and really you just need a couple of clamps which any woodworker will have.

I was lazy though and channeled the spirit of my primate ancestors and held the piece up with my big toe while I tightened the nut. It worked and saved me from standing up, maybe like 4 calories preserved, which is important as we approach the winter cold and I need that layer of fluff to keep me warm in the shop.

Second, and this is the real paradox, it is NOT sturdy enough for woodworking. If you were a seamster or craft hobbyist this bench would probably do fine. But if you put a vise on this bench and try planing down some stock, the bench would become a bucking bronco and you would have to walk with it out of your shops door with every stroke of the tool. It had extra screws and parts.

Overall, it went together easy adding it to an existing bench in about 30 minutes. It gets a little tricky getting it all together when your a bigger built man. I did have one carriage bolt snap on my. I was a little disappointed in that, but replacements are cheap. They are so proud at Craftsman that they put a made in USA sticker on the front. Sort of an insult to US.

I got cut so many times from assembling this due to extremely sharp edges on the steel. Two of the four threaded plates on bottom for the adjustable feet I had to rethread because the threads were that poor I couldn't even start the feet threading into them. The wood top in my opinion is poor quality. There's so many places they filled with putty. The top was bashed up and scratched right out of box but box was not damaged. Now of course I'm using it as a true workbench not a dining room table so the quality of the wood tops finish is truly beside the point but nevertheless Craftsman should have better quality control.

Oh one last point about the sharp edges on the sheet metal I mean sharp. In this world it's this sort of poor quality control on the sharp edges that people sue companies over and win.

First of all, it's a sturdy workbench, with a nice, solid top. I can't fault it there. My item was slightly defective. The legs should have a threaded piece of steel welded to the bottom of the leg so the leveling bolts could screw into them. Mine was missing those pieces of steel on one of the legs. I called Craftsman, and they were completely unhelpful. They told me to return it to Amazon, which, for a workbench that weighed almost pounds, would not have been a great option.

Anyway, other than that, my biggest issue was that you need to drill the holes yourself to mount the top to the legs. Come on, Craftsman. The assembly of the back splash piece isn't as clear as it should be, and they tell you to do a goofy thing in the instructions. They tell you to turn the bench completely rightside-up, but then you need to mark and drill the holes from the bottom, which isn't terribly comfortable. Instead, if you just turn the bench so that the top is perpendicular to the ground, it's much easier to just set the splash guard on the top edge, then you're drilling from the side, not the bottom.
